Greg Moore is the CEO Emeritus to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. Greg served as the top executive of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy from 1986 to May 2019. Greg was a founder of the Conservancy, its first Executive Director, and later its President & CEO.

The Parks Conservancy is the nonprofit partner to the National Park Service, Presidio Trust, and other public agencies, helping to preserve and enhance the Golden Gate National Parks. Under Moore’s leadership, the Conservancy has provided more than $550M in support to park projects and programs. During his tenure, the Conservancy has received numerous national awards for excellence in interpretation, conservation, and park improvement efforts–and is known nationally and internationally for its innovative work.  Moore has been honored with The San Francisco Foundation’s Community Leadership Award (2013); the Silver SPUR Award, a lifetime achievement award from SPUR (2018); and the U.S. Department of the Interior Citizen’s Award for Exceptional Service (2019).

Moore holds a B.S. in Conservation of Natural Resources from U.C. Berkeley and completed a Mid-career Fellowship in Environmental Planning at the University of Washington. He has served as an advisor to park projects throughout the country and internationally, including the National Parks, World Heritage Sites, and Monuments of Australia, Chile, China, Italy, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Greg currently serves on the boards of the Conservation Lands Foundation and the National Parks Friends’ Alliance–and serves as a representative to the High Line Network. He is also a past member and president of the Public Lands Alliance Board of Directors and served on the Irvine Ranch Conservancy board.
