Park Academy: Lupine Mapping
Lupinus
March 11, 2010
10 am - 4 pm
Audience: Staff, Volunteers
Location: Marin Headlands
Event Type: Environment/Science

Learn the mapping protocol for the Mission Blue Butterfly host plants: Lupinus albifrons, Lupinus formosa, and Lupinus variicolor. This training will begin with a short discussion on theecology of these lupine species, their change in density and distribution over time, and why it is important to carefully map and monitor them. We will then spend the rest of the day doing a hands-on mapping project. Please be prepared to hike up and down steep, rocky hillsides. Bring water and lunch.

Please note: Park Academy classes are meant as a special perk for volunteers and employees. If you do not work for the Park or have not volunteered with us in the past year, bringing a donation (sliding scale of $1 to $10) to the class is strongly encouraged.
