The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy offers internships in restoration ecology, education and outreach, and environmental education. Work sites vary throughout Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo Counties. Internships are competitive and are generally one-year positions.

Interns are compensated $125 per week for out-of-pocket expenses and housing is provided in the Golden Gate National Parks. We also offer transportation to and from work sites, personalized training, and marketable work experience. You will work hard but have lots of fun!

The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy also has long-term volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Commitment and training levels vary by position and ongoing training opportunities are provided.

Alcatraz Gardens Docents Alcatraz Historic Gardens Docents >>
Alcatraz Gardens docents lead visitors through the gardens for up to an hour and engage visitors at a designated stop in the garden. Docents complete a training course and lead tours at least twice a month.
