Ocean Beach Cleanup & Stewardship
Volunteers help clean up at Ocean Beach

1st and 3rd Sundays, 10 am-Noon

Keep our beaches beautiful! This program is an easy team-building project that takes only a few hours and contributes to your community. Become a park steward while enjoying a day at the beach and help improve wildlife habitat both locally and globally.

Ocean Beach is a beautiful 3 mile stretch of coastline popular with local residents and visitors alike to enjoy a range of recreational activities. Due to its popularity, wildlife is being harmed by things that do not belong on the beach. Please come out and help preserve and protect this treasured destination. Help keep our beaches beautiful, clean, and safe for all of us to enjoy.

Individuals and Families: Register for this program. Drop-in individuals are welcome.

Groups: Schedule a private program for groups of 5 or more. Contact us if you would like to register a group. Group projects must be confirmed in advance.

Fire Ring Information
We need your help to ensure the Fire Ring program is successful. The Fire Rings were installed April 2007 as part of a pilot program to continue allowing fires at Ocean Beach. If you love fires at Ocean Beach, this is your opportunity to make a difference. To learn more, download the Ocean Beach Fire Ring Policy Brochure (PDF).

Why Fire Rings?
The impacts of the beach fires are damaging to the ecosystem and to all of us who enjoy the beach. Nails, broken glass, hot coals, and debris left on the beach pose a threat to wildlife and our community.

The Fire Ring program is a collaborative effort of the National Park Service, San Francisco Surfrider FoundationOcean Beach Foundation, and Burners Without Borders, along with volunteer support from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.

The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative parkwide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust
