The CAP Leadership Training is designed to provide group leaders with the skills and resources to plan and lead a youth camping trip in the Presidio and beyond.
Whether you are a seasoned camper or have never been camping before, this experiential learning program is a great introduction to front-country camping and the Presidio.
This overnight training includes overviews of:
- Tent and stove set-up.
- Dayhiking with youth.
- Camping safety.
- The Presidio’s natural and cultural resources.
- Clothing supplies requirements.
- Team building activities.
- Resource guides .
After participants complete the CAP Leadership Training program, they are eligible to reserve dates for their camping trip.

General Program Information
Availability: CAPLT trainings are limited to 18 people. An organization may send up to four people per training.
2012 Dates: March 3–4 (REGISTRATION FULL)April 9–10June 6–7 Aug. 4–5 Sept. 6–7
Each training begins at 8:30 am on the first day and ends at 1 pm the following day.
