FOR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH
Inspiring Young Emerging Leaders

Inspiring Young Emerging Leaders (I-YEL) empowers San Francisco youth to YEL for a more sustainable and just society. I-YEL interns are challenged to plan and implement projects that create change in their communities. Check out our "What is I-YEL" video.
Point Reyes Adventure
Each summer, 12- 14 high school youth from I-YEL and other collaborating organizations, spend five days and four nights immersed in the ecology of Point Reyes National Seashore. Students learn about the natural environment of Point Reyes, learn about resource management, and get hands-on experience working on projects involving science, natural inventories, and population monitoring. Another valuable aspect of the program is the contact participants have with rangers, managers, and environmental professionals. Through this unique opportunity of inquiry and reflection, participants leave with a greater understanding of their environment and who works to protect it.
