Location and Directions

Institute staff offices are located at Cavallo Point – the Lodge at the Golden Gate, in the heart of historic Fort Baker. This former military post, now part of the Golden Gate National Parks, is located at the northern entrance to the Golden Gate. Fronting San Francisco Bay, the site offers panoramic views of the city skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Angel Island. Fort Baker is the gateway to hundreds of miles of coastal and inland hiking, biking and other outdoor recreation as well as vibrant culture, dining and attractions of San Francisco. From the North and East Bay
Traveling south on Highway 101, take the second Sausalito exit (just before the Golden Gate Bridge). Proceed under the freeway and onto Alexander Avenue. Turn left on Bunker Road, then right on Bunker Road East (before the tunnel). Follow the signs downhill to Fort Baker. Turn right on Murray Circle, proceed past 601 Murray Circle, make a right on Kobler Road, and an immediate left onto McReynolds Road. Make a right onto Seitler Road, and proceed to 546 Seitler Road.

From San Francisco
Traveling north on Highway 101, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and take the Alexander exit. Proceed to Bunker Road, turn left. Proceed to Bunker Road East (before the tunnel) and turn right. Follow the signs downhill to Fort Baker. Turn right on Murray Circle, proceed past 601 Murray Circle, make a right on Kobler Road, and an immediate left onto McReynolds Road. Make a right onto Seitler Road, and proceed to 546 Seitler Road.
