Our Planet's Health–Our Human HealthTurning the Tide 2010 focused on connecting our planet’s health with our human health. We hope to make strides toward a more integrated view of personal well-being and planetary health. The most enduring solutions come from understanding the complex interrelationship between our survival as a species and the health of the global environment—an environment upon which all living things depend. During the conference, we advanced this principle by engaging forward-thinking doctors as well as pioneering climatologists; bringing together diverse leaders from across the health-care sector; and forging productive linkages among medical professionals, environmental advocates, park officials, and experts on food and ecological systems. Here, within a national park, we hope to demonstrate these convictions and bring them to scale around the country. |
