Trails Forever Programs

Trails Forever has a wide range of volunteer programs to match your interests, skills, and available time. When you volunteer, you’re making a vital contribution to your local National Parks, your open space, and your community.

In addition to helping your community, these programs provide opportunities for personal development and growth for all ages and backgrounds. You can have a hand in helping to create and maintain a world class trail system right in your own backyard while gaining a truly rewarding personal experience. So come join us for a fun and gratifying experience in the parks!

Teens on Trails

Use your day off as a day on and celebrate the holiday by helping restore your National Park. We have specially scheduled programs throughout the year at sites in Marin, the Presidio, San Francisco, and San Mateo County. Projects include trail maintenance and habitat restoration along some of the most scenic trails in the park. This project is just for teens and fulfills service hours, so come with friends, classmates, or your school club. Click here for more details.

Trail Crew

Help repair, maintain and enhance trails, and protect sensitive natural habitat in the Golden Gate National Parks! Your stewardship will help create and maintain a world-class trail system for our community to enjoy today and in the years to come. Please join us for a fun and rewarding experience, and meet others, like you, who love park trails! Register for this program, drop-in individuals are welcome (this is a seasonal volunteer program Apr-Oct).

You can also join our trail crew Monday-Thursday year round, send us an email to find out how. Group programs are available year-round as well. Schedule a private program for groups of 10 or more, click here for more details.

Urban Trail Blazers

Urban Trailblazers (UTB) is an environmental youth leadership program offered by Crissy Field Center. For 8 weeks each summer, a group of 24 culturally diverse middle school students from San Francisco area public schools are introduced to the outdoors through restoration projects, environmental workshops and exploration of the Golden Gate National Parks.
