Fantastic Fridays SUMMER CAMP
For campers entering grades 1-8 in the Fall

Experience your national park in a new way, every day, at Crissy Field Summer Camp. Our one- and two-week day camps are designed to give young people in-depth experiences in our urban environment and regional national parks. Through a rich combination of outdoor investigation, field outings, and fun, hands-on projects, campers learn important ecological concepts and issues.

Parents! Now you can drop off your child for hands-on fun in your national park next door! The Center's new Saturday morning Kids-Only Clubs offer elementary school-aged kids a chance to get out and about in the park for adventure and discovery.

Join our new younger kids club at Crissy Field for incredible animal adventures! There's a whole world of critters that call the Presidio home and you're going to track them down. Animal lovers and nature enthusiasts will love examining skulls, pelts, and tracks in our Urban Ecology Lab. Then, it's off to the Art Lab to design origami mobiles and marble mazes.

This club is just for older kids who love nature and art. You'll explore the ecosystems of Muir Woods National Monument and the Presidio with the help of the Center's sustainable arts and science specialists and a special guest photographer. Along this journey through the great outdoors, you'll dabble in a whole variety of eco-art projects - writing poetry, keeping a journal, making art, and taking photographs. Transportation to Muir Woods provided.

Fantastic Fridays Parent Tot Playtime FANTASTIC FRIDAYS
Parent and tot playtime at Crissy Field. Fantastic Friday runs every Friday through May 30, 2008 with some holiday exceptions. 10 am to Noon

Ages: 2 to 5, with parent, guardian or caregiver
Fee: $10 per child, per day

Crissy Field is a magical and safe place for toddlers to explore the outdoors with their five senses and to develop a lasting appreciation for living things. Spend quality time with your child making sand animals, becoming bug detectives, listening with your 'deer ears,' and more. It's a different adventure every week, full of creative activities you can use over and over during your own family getaways! There will also be time inside, in the Center's Art Lab, making fish prints, pirate scopes, and more!

Mystery Trail MYSTERY TRAIL CHALLENGE
Available everyday
9 am to 4 pm FREE
Self-guided; recommended for families and groups with children ages 5 to 10.

Calling all seaside sleuths! Grab a magnifying glass and get down to the Warming Hut, near the fishing pier at the western end of Crissy Field. Once there, you'll find a booklet that directs you down the Mystery Trail in search of the first clue. There are nine secret plaques altogether, hidden along a one-mile waterfront trail-can you find them all? A prize awaits you if you can! Take the Crissy Field Mystery Trail Challenge, unlock its secrets, and claim your surprise!

BIG YEAR POSTER CONTEST
Make a poster featuring one of 33 local endangered species in the Golden Gate Gate National Parks to be displayed at Earth Day events at Crissy Field, MacLaren Park and other public locations. All submissions receive a free eco-passport to the April 19th Earth Stroll event at Crissy Field. Grand prizes of $50 program certificates to the Crissy Field Center for each of the four age classes: 5 and under, 6 - 8, 9 -12, and 13 - 18 years old.
