J. Mark Jenkins has more than 20 years of professional experience as a nonprofit financial specialist and currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Parks Conservancy. His prior industry experience includes four years serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Westside Community Services, Inc., and five years in concurrent positions as the Director of Finance for the San Francisco Ballet and the Chief Financial Officer for the San Francisco Ballet Endowment Foundation. Prior to that J. Mark served as the lead Senior Manager of the Northern California Not-for-Profit Services Group of Deloitte & Touche, where he coordinated local nonprofit training programs, including roundtables for clients and friends of the firm.
J. Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Summa cum Laude, from the University of Central Florida. He is an active volunteer and has more than 25 years of board experience.
J. Mark is a past member of the Planning Committee for the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Not-for-Profit Financial Executives Forum and the AICPA Not-for-Profit Organizations Expert Panel. He served on the task force to overhaul the AICPA Audit and Accounting Guide for Not-for-Profit Organizations, as well as the task force for both the first and second editions of the AICPA Audit Committee Toolkit, Not-for-Profit Organizations.
J. Mark has frequently been engaged to provide educational programs concerning nonprofit fiscal management and board governance by such entities as San Francisco Business Volunteers for the Arts, the Practical Training Institute, and the Institute of Management Accountants. He is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Although he’s a Florida native, J. Mark has called San Francisco home since 1994. He is an avid fitness enthusiast and flag dancer, and loves to spend time with his friends and his Patterdale terrier, Haley.
