The Institute at the Golden Gate hosted David de Rothschild, 2009 Turning the Tide speaker, Plastiki expedition leader, and founder of Adventure Ecology, in conversation with celebrated journalist and TV host Doug McConnell.

In this exclusive appearance, de Rothschild spoke about the dilemma of global waste, using waste as a resource, and updated us on his upcoming journey aboard this 60-foot catamaran made almost entirely from post-consumer, reclaimed plastic bottles.

We also get a pre-expedition update from Plastiki Skipper Jo Royle and had a chance before the event to see the high-tech vessel in Horseshoe Cove at Fort Baker.
