Introducing a new partnership between the National Park Service, Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, San Francisco State University and City College of San Francisco.

Available only to students currently enrolled at SF State and CCSF.

Did you know that the Golden Gate National Parks is the largest national park in an urban setting in the country and located only within a few miles of your school!? Unfortunately, many communities don’t take advantage of amazing places such as Alcatraz, Marin Headlands, and Fort Funston. BUT, by becoming an intern, you can help expand the diversity of people that work and play in their national parks. Available positions include interpretation, vegetation monitoring, business management, media design, and more.

As an Intern you will receive:

  • $50 per day stipend
  • Academic credit available
  • Real work experience and professional / educational development
  • The enjoyment of working in a beautiful park
  • Potential for future job opportunities and a network of dynamic people who love their jobs!

Internships begin spring semester 2013 and start during the Week of Jan 14 and end May 30 with the possibility of summer extension. Applications due October 12, 2012.

How to Apply:

Submit the application along with a cover letter, resume, and application form (DOC) to academicintern@parksconservancy.org. Be sure to include in your cover letter your experience or lack of experience (that’s ok!) with national parks, why you are interested in the position, and what unique perspective you would bring. Please note that positions have different work locations and flexible work schedules as well as varying duties. Make sure you apply for one that is a good match for you.

For more information about the internships either send an email to academicintern@parksconservancy.org OR call (415) 561-3030 ext 2505.
