Completed in May 2010, the Park Trail provides a north-south trail corridor through the Presidio, extending 1.7 miles from the 14th Avenue Gate to Crissy Field.
The newest section of the Park Trail, accessible to visitors with disabilities, is 0.6 mile long and connects the Presidio Promenade to the Bay Area Ridge Trail.
Through specialized construction, a stabilized shale/rock trail departs from the road and carefully winds through the historic forest, providing visitors with a more enjoyable and accessible trail experience.
This trail project also achieved a major additional accessibility milestone at the Presidio, leveraging and expanding the accessibility of other trail corridors, including the Presidio Promenade and Battery East Trail.
This project was made possible by the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, donors to the Haas, Jr. Fund's Presidio Trails and Overlooks challenge grant, federal funding, and the members of the Parks Conservancy. Our deep gratitude goes to all who help support work in the Presidio.
