For 25 years we've been saying: "Meet me at Crissy Field!" Since its transformation in 2001, Crissy Field has been a place to gather, explore, and connect. What was once a concrete parking lot is now a welcoming shoreline where people meet friends and take in iconic views.
This transformation was made possible when the public and partners came together with a shared vision. A restored marsh now supports wildlife in the heart of the city, while paths and lawns invite everyday moments of joy.
The land carries a deeper history. For thousands of years, the Ramaytush Ohlone people lived in relationship with this shoreline, a connection later disrupted by colonization and military use. The restoration of the late 1990s helped renew Crissy Field as a place for community.
Crissy Field exists today because people cared and gave. Thousands of donors and volunteers supported its renewal, guided by the early vision and leadership of the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund. As we celebrate 25 years, we invite you to be part of what comes next and help sustain this place for future generations.
