Join the Bay Area Discovery Museum for an interactive lecture with Susan Sachs Lipman (Suz). Suz will address how today’s children are increasingly disconnected from nature, even as a growing body of evidence shows that time in nature positively impacts every area of child development—physical, psychological, intellectual, social and emotional.
Nature helps offset stress, obesity and ADHD, and helps children cooperate, self-regulate, and learn through creativity, wonder and play. In her talk, parents will learn about the latest research on children and nature, the worldwide movement to reconnect children with nature, and easy-to-implement and creative ways to experience nature in your own local nature, backyard and right here at the Museum.
