Parks Powered By Volunteers

The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative parkwide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.

ALERT: During the government shutdown due to a lapse in federal appropriations, most park volunteer programs are canceled, with the exception of those at the Presidio operated by the Presidio Trust, and those with California State Parks, Marin County Parks, and the Marin Municipal Water District. During a federal lapse in appropriations, the National Park Service (NPS) is prohibited from allowing or coordinating volunteer activities. Also, access to federal parklands closed during a shutdown is prohibited. Activities may not resume until a federal appropriation to fund the NPS is passed. Please refer to our calendar of events for the latest program updates, and click here to learn more about how you can help during the shutdown.

It's fun. It's healthy. It makes a difference. And it's easy to get started! We have a variety of options to choose from - for individuals and groups, and many that do not require experience or commitment. We will provide all the training, tools, and leadership.

With 80,000 acres of park land, we need your help as we work towards our vision of Parks For All Forever.
