Park improvement projects sometimes result in the temporary closure of roads, trails and parking areas. Information about current projects that could result in closures is available below.
Muir Woods National Monument
Before a parking reservation system is implemented in 2017, road-safety and watershed improvement projects will take place in and around Muir Woods throughout 2016.
To avoid travel delays and other short-term inconveniences, visitors are strongly encouraged to take the Muir Woods Shuttle, which will run every day during the spring and summer. Visit the website for start/end dates, schedules, and pickup locations.
Visit our Muir Woods page for more tips on making the most of your redwoods experience.
