The health and safety of our members, park visitors, program participants, volunteers, interns, and staff is our top priority. Due to the "shelter in place" orders announced for the six Bay Area counties through at least May 3, 2020, we will be canceling the rest of our member events for the spring season. Please continue to check our website for updates. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our membership line at 415-561-3060, or email us at membership@parksconservancy.org.

Venture into Mt. Tam’s forests and learn about some of the unique ways our partner, the Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD), is working to manage wildfire risk in the area and keep the vegetation healthy. Assistant Conservation Management Specialist Loren Jenkins will explain how the MMWD is applying vegetation management practices to mitigate the risk of Wildfire, as we hike to some of these sites to see their work in action. This walk will begin at the Marin County Fire Department Throckmorton Ridge Station and continue to Double Bow Knot via Gravity Car Road. From there, we will loop around through Hoo-Koo-E-Koo Trail to Hog Back Road and end up back at the Throckmorton Ridge Station. If you want to keep exploring Mt. Tam’s beauty, feel free to keep hiking up to the West Point Inn for a well-deserved snack, or keep on going to Mt. Tam’s summit!
