This site contains a matrix of coastal scrub and grassland plant communities scattered across steep terrain.
Located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, the silver lupine (Lupinus albifrons) population found within the grassland supports a colony of endangered Mission Blue butterflies. Much of the restoration effort has involved extensive removal of French broom that encroaches on critical butterfly habitat.
Join the team of community volunteers who are helping care for these habitats.
