Field Station at Presidio Tunnel Tops
(FREE. Open Wednesday to Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Weekends 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Bring all your senses to explore and discover real things from the Presidio. Let your curiosity be your guide. Start by smelling or tasting some fragrant Presidio plants!
The Field Station is where kids see the Presidio through art, science, or simply their imagination. Drop in to draw butterflies, touch a crawfish, discover maps made by the first explorers, or be challenged to close their eyes and describe what mystery object is in their hands. It’s not a classroom and it’s not a museum – and it just might be the most fun indoor spot in San Francisco.
Presidio Tunnel Tops is a 14-acre national park experience situated atop the Presidio Parkway tunnels, connecting Crissy Field to the Main Post of the Presidio with spectacular views, welcoming spaces for friends and family, and lots of things to do. Built by the community, for the community, we're grateful to the donors and Parks Conservancy members who helped bring this vision to life. Learn more about Presidio Tunnel Tops.
