Ruth Ann Gonzales is the Vice President of Interpretive Retail at the Parks Conservancy, leading the operations of the organization’s retail centers, warehouses, and online and wholesale activities in partnership with the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the most visited park site in the U.S. Each year, millions of visitors engage with these parks through these retail centers, with every purchase supporting programs for youth, science, conservation, and communities, reflecting the mission to connect people and parks.
With over 20 years of experience, Ruth Ann has led multi-store retail operations and created innovative customer experiences at iconic brands like Sephora, Gap Inc., and Papyrus. Her leadership also includes roles in online healthcare operations and public service with the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Protocol. Ruth Ann’s commitment to community impact is evident in her volunteer roles with organizations such as AIxImpact, Catchafire, and the San Francisco Marin Food Bank.
California born and raised in Santa Barbara and a longtime San Francisco resident, Ruth Ann holds a bachelor's degree from Pitzer College. She is passionate about advancing the Parks Conservancy’s mission, inspired by decades of personal connection to the parks. “Parks for All Forever” is not just a vision for Ruth Ann, but a lived experience and one she is proud to champion through interpretive retail that deepens every visitor’s connection to place, story, and community.
