Alcatraz Gardens Class Series: Introduction to Basket Weaving

In this class you will learn how to make a small basket made from leaves collected in the historical Alcatraz gardens. Not only it is a fun project that involves upcycling, it will also introduce you to basketry as well as bits of garden knowledge.

Tiffanie Pahl, a passionate crafter and tireless upcycler, will teach this two-hour workshop where beginners are welcome. Supplies are provided. Participants will go home with one (or more!) finished small basket and an instructional handout.

Please dress for the variable weather of the island--bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. Please meet at Pier 33 to depart on the 10 am-- those who register for this class DO NOT have to buy a ferry ticket; one will be provided for you as a part of this class. The workshop will finish at 12:30 pm, with the first return boat at 12:55pm.
