Black History Day on Alcatraz Island

On Feb. 27, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy will be highlighting untold stories of Black history on Alcatraz Island. This Black History Month, come learn about the stories that helped shape this island. From Buffalo Soldiers stationed on Alcatraz to the correctional officers who persevered in the face of adversity, let’s remember and celebrate the strength of those who contributed to the legacy of Alcatraz.
