Botany Series: Plant Families in the Field (Mori Point)

Stretch your legs and get out your hand lens! Explore 32 acres of Mori Point on a botanical oriented hike examining several plant families and genera. We will largely be exposed to the elements and can expect a range of weather, foggy to misty wet, windy or dry and warm- dress appropriately. Bring water, snacks and or lunch. Hike is easy to strenuous covering an estimated four miles. Trails are dirt fire road or single track and mixed use, accompanying equestrians or dogs in sections. While Mori is well known for its annual wildflower displays in the coastal prairie we will be visiting freshwater wetland and chaparral as well, examining seeds, fruits, and ferns. Feel free to bring field guides and floras alike. Meet at Trailhead entrance at 8 am at Bradford Way, in Pacifica.
