Purple Flowers at Black Point Historic Gardens

Revel over the beauty and diversity of California's native wildflowers this spring at the Black Point Historic Gardens. The newly opened Black Point Historic Gardens date back to the 1850s and are being revitalized by park staff and volunteers after being abandoned behind fences for over 50 years. This little-known treasure of Fort Mason features sweeping views of the Bay, and an unbelievable native wildflower bloom each spring. Feast your eyes on a rainbow of poppies, clarkia, lupine, tidy tips, nemophila, gilia, and more! We will explore the iconic ecosystem that makes the SF Bay Area so special, observe and learn about the relationships between native pollinators and wildflowers, and share tips on how to bring the show home to your own garden.

Difficulty: Easy - Moderate. The area is mainly accessible through stone staircases.
