Join Park Ranger Emeritus and historian John Martini for a two-hour hike from Rodeo Beach up the Coastal Trail to the recently restored Battery Townsley. We will focus on the history of the Marin Headlands' fortifications, especially the dark months after Pearl Harbor when soldiers manned Battery Townsley round-the-clock in anticipation of invasion. The hike has steep uphill sections.
