Up Close: Lichens and Forests Bioblitz at Tomales Bay State Park

Join One Tam at Tomales Bay State Park for a nature and science adventure! A bioblitz is a quick, intense survey of the species present. Hone your observation skills, learn about forests, and delve into the odd world of lichens! Nature-curious folks of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

The day will start with a quick how-to and an introduction to lichens and forests. We will then hike a short to moderate distance to our survey location where we will photograph and collect lichens—and more!—in small groups. After the survey, participants will gather again in an outdoor setting to share finds and identify lichens. Please bring layers, lunch, and water bottle.

Registration required for all participants 2+ years of age.  If registration is full, complete the form and you will be automatically added to the waiting list. People on the waiting list will be notified if a spot becomes available.
