Key Field Marks: adult distinctive: white head and tail, dark body; tail 1-2 times head length (compare to Golden Eagle); juvenile and sub-adult: dark body with white patches that are mainly in a line along the under-wing coverts, in the wing-pits, on base of tail not reaching outer edges, and for sub-adult, on belly
Flight: slow lumbering flap, soars on flat wings
