Paper Bag or Cardboard NPS Ranger Badge

Stuck indoors with wee ones? We’ve got some craft projects that’ll bring the magic of the outdoors inside your home. From coloring book pages to national park-themed craft ideas, we’ve got something for all ages that’ll keep you busy. All you need is a heap of imagination—the directions below are designed to be adaptable to the supplies you might have around the house.

  • Coffee filter, ranger badge stencil
    Step 1: Cut a flat panel out of a paper bag or piece of thin cardboard (like a cereal box). Step 2: Draw a ranger badge shape onto the paper/cardboard.
  • Create your own NPS ranger badge at home
    Step 3: Decorate the ranger badge with a marker, pen, pencil, or crayon!
  • Make your own NPS ranger badge at home
    Step 4: Cut out the badge! If you have one, tape or glue a safety pin to the back of the badge to connect it to clothing. Now there’s a new junior ranger in town!
