For centuries, poetry and art have helped people give shape to grief, pain, resilience, and healing. In this workshop, participants will read selected poems that engage difficult experiences with care and craft.

In this second Poetry of Place session, participants will consider how memory, geography, and emotion shape our understanding of a landscape.

This workshop invites participants to turn close observation of the natural world into vivid, memorable poems.

At this workshop, participants will reflect on the power of place. Place can be a physical location, an inner landscape, or a meeting point between the two.

This summer, FOR-SITE Foundation presents its highly anticipated new project Black Gold: Stories Untold. This innovative exhibition invites more than fifteen contemporary artists to reflect on the resilience, struggles, and triumphs of African Americans who lived in California from the Gold Rush to the Reconstruction period following the Civil War (c. 1849–1877).
