It’s that time of the year again! Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and people are out and about enjoying park trails. Best of all, National Trails Day is back and just around the corner! Mark your calendars and join us on Saturday, June 3. 

Roll up your sleeves and join us for a morning of fun and rewarding work to help replace the post and cable fencing on one of Fort Funston's well loved trails.

National Trails Day is the nation’s largest celebration of trails organized by the American Hiking Society

When: Saturday, June 3rd; 9am-12pm. Registration Required

Meeting Location: Fort Funston. Specific meeting location will be listed in the registration confirmation email.​

Age, Skills, What to Bring:

  • Age requirement varies by project. Read our Youth Policy Guidelines (PDF)for youth under the age of 15.

  • Bring your completed Volunteer Agreement Form (PDF). Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the parent/guardian approval section signed.

  • Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary.

  • Bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.

  • No experience necessary.

  • Training and tools will be provided. 

COVID-SPECIFIC GUIDELINES

  • Stay home and DO NOT attend if you:

    • Have any illness symptoms

    • Have tested positive for COVID-19

    • Suspect you have had contact with a COVID-19 positive case

Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged, but not required.

The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative parkwide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.
