Join the Presidio Trust in celebrating World Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Presidio of San Francisco. This event highlights the incredible journeys of migratory birds and the importance of creating bird-friendly cities and communities.

The Bay Area is a critical stopover and year-round home for many bird species, and the Presidio is a national park site that’s an important habitat refugia, making it the perfect place to celebrate. The event will feature:

  • Volunteer habitat restoration projects that improve urban spaces for birds.
  • Guided bird walks for all skill levels, including opportunities to participate in community science.
  • Interactive partner tables with fun, family-friendly activities and information about how to support bird conservation at home and in the city.

All ages are welcome, and activities are designed to engage families, bird enthusiasts, and community members alike. The event will be open to the public, but volunteers will have the opportunity to sign up for restoration shifts ahead of time (link to come). The day will conclude with a brief ceremony recognizing San Francisco’s ongoing commitment to bird conservation through the Urban Bird Treaty partnership

Hosted by our partners at the Presidio Trust. For more details on upcoming Presidio events and programs, visit presidio.gov or contact presidio@presidiotrust.gov/em> | (415) 561-5300.
