Join us on this rare Sunday program to help keep Fort Mason beautiful! Help keep this popular destination well maintained for both local and worldwide visitors to enjoy. Projects will take place throughout Fort Mason and include litter removal, invasive plant weeding, vegetation pruning, sand removal, site improvements, and trail maintenance.

Age, Skills, What to Bring:

  • Volunteers ages 5+ are welcome. Read our Youth Policy Guidelines (PDF) for youth under the age of 15. Volunteers ages 5-13 can attend with a parent/guardian, ages 14 & up can attend without a parent/guardian.
  • You'll need to fill out a Volunteer Agreement Form (PDF) on-site on the day of the event. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the parent/guardian approval section signed. If participants under 18 will be arriving without a parent/guardian present, please get in touch with the volunteer manager to obtain a form to print and sign ahead of time. Participants under 18 will not be allowed to volunteer without this specific form properly signed & dated.
  • We'll be working rain or shine. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary.
  • Bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.
  • No experience necessary. Training and tools will be provided. Fulfills community service requirements.

The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative parkwide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.
