Join your member community for a walk through the Lost Cemetery of Lincoln Park on Tuesday, November 10th at 4 pm. Few people realize that today’s Lincoln Park Golf Course was once “City Cemetery,” the final resting place for tens of thousands of San Francisco's dead. It included sections for various ethnic and religious groups, and a sprawling paupers’ graveyard called Potter’s Field. Join historian and retired ranger John Martini on this twilight exploration of the former cemetery, including visits to forgotten funerary monuments along the golf course fairways. The non-strenuous walk starts at the corner 34th Ave and Clement Street, proceeds along gentle uphill paths and across some stretches of lawn before ending at the Palace of the Legion of Honor. Time: 1.5 hours
