Community Science programs are opportunities to participate in park science – you’ll help build our knowledge of park ecosystems and how they’re doing, while gaining science skills. Learn more about these offerings at our community science page and at the links below. Please note that these programs are seasonal and each happen on their own unique schedules. Some programs are drop-in and open to anyone, while others require a prospective volunteer to apply and commit to the duration of the season. Current programs include:

  • Bioblitzes – document biodiversity at key places in the parks during these one-time special events. This is a drop-in opportunity – check our calendar for dates.

  • Golden Gate Raptor Observatory – track populations of migrating birds of prey from the Marin Headlands. This opportunity is a specialized role.

  • Marin Wildlife Watch – track populations of mammals on public lands Marin County through images from motion-activated cameras. This opportunity is a specialized role.

  • Tamalpais Bee Lab – study local native bee communities on public lands in Marin County. This is a drop-in opportunity and provides on-site training – check our calendar for dates.
