How do living things grow? What do plants need to thrive?
Students discover the plant life cycle while cultivating their own connection to nature at the Presidio, Fort Funston, or Marin Headlands Native Plant Nursery. In small groups, students get a behind-the-scenes tour of the nursery and discuss how the nursery helps plants grow. Students also create scientific sketches of garden plants, sparking close observation and curiosity. Finally, a hands-on service project invites students to see their own roles in the ecosystem and grow a healthy stewardship ethic.
