Park Trail

Completion Date

The Presidio Park Trail provides an important link in between the Presidio Promenade and the Bay Area Ridge Trail

Completed in May 2010, the Park Trail provides a north-south trail corridor through the Presidio, extending 1.7 miles from the 14th Avenue Gate to Crissy Field.

Through specialized construction, a stabilized shale/rock trail departs from the road and carefully winds through the historic forest, providing visitors with a more enjoyable trail experience. The newest section of the Park Trail, accessible to visitors with disabilities, is 0.6 mile long and connects the Presidio Promenade to the Bay Area Ridge Trail. The project also expanded the accessibility of other trail corridors, including the Presidio Promenade and Battery East Trail.

In addition to donations from thousands of individual community members work along the Park Trail has received support from:

  • Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund
  • Donors to the Haas, Jr. Fund's Presidio Trails and Overlooks challenge grant
