The 2.1-mile Presidio Promenade is a major east-west trail bringing visitors from the park’s urban edge at the Lombard Gate to the Golden Gate Bridge. The multi-use trail and associated in-road bike lanes travel along the plateau above Crissy Field, passing by some of the Presidio’s most historic areas: the Letterman Digital Arts Center, Main Post, National Cemetery, Cavalry Stables, and Battery East.
Construction on the final segment began in the fall of 2009, which extends from the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Crissy Field Avenue to the Crissy Field Overlook and Bay Trail at Battery East. From there, the Bay Trail and Promenade share the same alignment as they wind through the historic batteries en-route to the Golden Gate Bridge.
