One Tam is continuing our efforts to monitor and understand more about Mt. Tamalpais’ wild bees and other pollinators. Community science volunteers play a critical role in this study by pinning, sorting, and labeling specimens collected from the field.
The Golden Gate Raptor Observatory (located in the Marin Headlands) has kindly set aside some seats for Park Academy, so that those who are interested can come to their Hawkwatcher training! This is a three-part series covering the basics of how to identify raptors in flight.
Legacy of Hope: Species Preservation in Action features Brenda Melton, Director of Animal Care and Wellbeing for Steinhart Aquarium, and Allen Fish, Director of the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory. Through programs such as the Academy’s African Penguin Breeding Program and the Conservancy’s Golden Gate Raptor Observatory, we will hear how both organizations are working to preserve vulnerable species locally and around the world.
