When: Saturday, September 12th, 2026, 10:00am – 1:00pm
Where: Lands End; specific meeting location will be in the confirmation email after registering. Registration Required.
"The principal task of a community is to maintain balance, a state in which all five elements are functioning smoothly, echoing one another.
For the wheel to be balanced, there must be an overwhelming representation of water. Just as the earth is essentially water, and just as the human body is essentially water, a community needs a large number of water people to maintain its balance.
Water encourages a positive slowdown that permits one to notice things that are usually overlooked at high speed, and for this reason water is associated with focus. The water person is slow, shows great understanding, and is eager to make things work for the greatest good. He or she perceives the world in terms of possibilities. The water person thinks of community, relationship, love, and harmony." -- Malidoma Somé
The program: Come join a small group to care for Land End by offering the slow, relational gifts of water to support our native plants through the dry season. In addition to watering our baby plants, we'll also learn more about how water has shaped this land and reflect on how embodying water can support us in a world on fire. Herbs steeped in warm water (aka tea 🙂) and snacks will be served!
Accessibility details: We plan to walk a half mile on terrain that is mostly flat to gentle incline. Stewardship tasks will involve climbing over a knee-length rope fence, bending, and carrying, but tasks can be modified. Masks are not required for our outdoor events, but please tune into those around you and mask up when near others who are masking. We are very committed to being in conversation with community to make these programs as accessible as possible — please reach out with any accessibility needs!
Please contact pbzzhavgl@cnexfpbafreinapl.betgro.ycnavresnocskrap@ytinummoc with any accessibility needs or questions. All community members are welcome at this event.
