For Members: Muir Woods Sunrise Walk

Kirke Wrench/National Park Service
Enjoy a sunrise stroll with longtime Muir Woods volunteer Nelson Stubbins, who will lead this popular Muir Woods walk just for members. The early morning hours are a particularly beautiful time to visit the old-growth redwood forest. We will observe and explore animal and plant life as well as learn about the threats and challenges to the woods throughout its evolutionary history. The 3 mile stroll is mostly flat with a short, moderately steep section and will require crossing a log bridge (3 foot step) over Fern Creek. This program is designed to engage adults. Dress warmly, ideally in layers. Wear sturdy shoes. Bring water bottle and optionally a thermos of your favorite hot drink and pastry to enjoy at Camp Eastwood. Heavy rain cancels.
Parking reservations through the new GoMuirWoods reservation system are required for this event. Parking is $8 per vehicle. Reservation instructions and details will be included in confirmation message.
