All About SF's Stairways
In One Place, Times Two!

Jamie Baxter / Parks Conservancy
You’re invited! Come hear the city’s most knowledgeable authors, map makers, and influencers who have made SF’s stairways must-see destinations for locals and tourists, alike.
The speakers will be Mary Burk, author of Stairway Walks in San Francisco; Alexandra Kenin, author of Urban Trails: San Francisco and creator of the online SF Stairways Project; and Liz Novoa, a San Francisco native, host and online SF stairways’ influencer (@sfstaircasequeen).
This is your opportunity to hear wonderful stories of how the chapters of the legendary stairway walks book are compiled and see the astonishing map of over 900 stairways. You’ll be able to ask questions and for fun, enjoy a game to test your knowledge of the "ups and downs" of known and hidden stairways. You will have an opportunity to join for a guided short walk in the Presidio with these authors. And, this is your chance to purchase signed books (we are entering holiday season!).
Note: Due to the limited seating capacity of the venue and expected high interest, this talk will be held twice, once in the morning (followed by a short walk with moderate stairs) and once in the afternoon (followed by a slightly longer walk and easier stairs). Please reserve for just one presentation!
This talk is a part of SF Stairway Month which is hosted by the Civic Joy Fund and organized by Glen Park Beautiful. Thank you to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy for their partnership on this event, plus(!) our partners at the Crosstown Trails, WalkSF, San Francisco City Guides, and SF Travel.
