Join the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy to find your biobliss! Come learn more about the Native Bees in the Bay Area through your own joyful discoveries, with guidance from enthusiastic naturalists.
What is a biobliss?
A Find Your Biobliss event is different from a bioblitz in that we want to find what's interesting and intriguing to you about Native Bees. And that means taking our time to observe and wonder about what's in front of us. This event is grounded in curiosity, a sense of wonder, and the joy of tuning into nature with all our senses.
We’ll share about the amazing and surprising Native Bees in the area then look for them to observe them at Tunnel Tops! People of all ages and all skill levels (especially beginners!) are welcome. You bring your curiosity and tons of enthusiasm!
We’ll show you how to observe the Native Bees we find at Tunnel Tops, and macro lenses, magnifying glasses, and hand lenses will be provided.
We will meet outside the Field Station at Tunnel Tops to start the day, learn how to observe the Native Bees we find, head out to explore Tunnel Tops in groups, then come back to share our findings.
You are more than welcome to stay after the program ends for a Bee Cafe, where we will look through our field guides to identify the Native Bees we found!

Please arrive early to fill out a Participation Form, which is required in order to join the program, thank you!
Free parking is available at Crissy Field East Beach parking lot and is a 9 Minute Walk to the Field Station. Additional paid parking lots in The Presidio are also nearby. Public Transit options include the 30 Muni bus line on Old Mason St., the 43 Muni bus line at the Presidio Transit Center, and the Presidio GO Shuttle.
Please come dressed in layers and bring sunscreen / sun protection and your water bottle with you. Water Filling Stations are available at the Presidio Transit Center and Tunnel Tops.
