East Peak, Mount Tamalpais

For two days in October, we’ll come together as one community to celebrate a treasure that is truly one-of-a-kind: Mt. Tamalpais.

Celebrate Tam—a first-ever event organized by One Tam and Mill Valley Recreation—commemorates the beginning of a new era of care and stewardship on Mt. Tam, built upon a proud legacy of grassroots activism and pioneering conservationists.

Plus, the weekend (Oct. 3–4) promises to be a whole lot of fun for the whole family!

Highlights of Celebrate Tam include:

Saturday, October 3

  • 8 am–4 pm: Walks, talks and volunteer events across the mountain
  • 6–8 pm: Special “sneak peek” preview of a new art exhibition of prints from Tom Killion’s book Tamalpais Walking

Sunday, October 4

  • 10 am–2 pm: Tam Day festival—featuring food trucks; live music; crafts; kid-friendly activities; and 40 exhibitors representing conservation, arts, recreation, youth, history, education, and volunteer organizations
  • 2–4 pm: Tam Talk—your chance to converse with the leaders of the Tamalpais Lands Collaborative (Marin County Parks, Marin Municipal Watershed District, California State Parks, National Park Service, and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy) and hear about their One Tam initiative to engage the entire community in the care of Mt. Tam
