Join us for Spring Days of Service! Celebrate Earth Day, National Volunteer Week, and National Park Week with the Golden Gate national parks. Learn how natural resources, history, recreation, and science blend together while volunteering in iconic public spaces. From habitat restoration and park maintenance to community science programs, there's something for everyone. Bring yourself, your friends, and your family to take action and make a difference in your National Park!

When: Friday, April 18th, 2025–Saturday, April 26th, 2025

Groups

Groups of five or more require special arrangements and must be confirmed in advance. Visit our Groups volunteer page to learn more.

COVID-specific Guidelines

  • Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged, but not required.
  • Stay home and DO NOT attend if you:
    • Have any illness symptoms
    • Have tested positive for COVID-19
    • Suspect you have had contact with a COVID-19 positive case

The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative parkwide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.

VOLUNTEER PROJECTS

Scroll through events below to find one that works for your schedule! Registration required. In addition to theses event, there are a number of hands-on community science volunteer opportunities taking place during Spring Days of Service through the end of April. Follow the links below to learn more about each opportunity.  

  • Take part in City Nature Challenge 2025! Become a field biologist for the day and help our community science team observe and identify organisms throughout the park! 
  • Help our One Tam partners monitor and understand more about local wild bees and other pollinators at the Tamalpais Bee Lab! Learn more about the program here and register for an event on either 4/19 or 4/26 from 11am-2pm here.
