Register for this free workshop, where you'll create an original poem inspired by Crissy Field and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Led by acclaimed poet Jodie Hollander, the Poetry in the Parks: Share Your Voice workshops invite participants to slow down, observe the landscape, and create original poems inspired by their personal connection to Crissy Field and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. No poetry experience is necessary.

In this second Poetry of Place session, participants will consider how memory, geography, and emotion shape our understanding of a landscape. Through guided prompts, participants will create a draft of an original poem inspired by Crissy Field and their own relationship to place.

Registration is required. Workshops are free and limited to 25 participants per session. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook, pen, comfortable layers, and a willingness to explore the park through words.

About Poetry in the Parks

As part of celebrating the 25th anniversary of Crissy Field's  restoration, the Parks Conservancy is inviting the public to participate in Poetry in the Park: Share Your Voice. This is a participatory community poetry initiative bringing Bay Area residents into creative conversation with public space, belonging, and each other — through on-site poetry workshops, pop-up performances, and a public showcase at one of the region's most beloved parks. Workshops will be lead by the founder of the national Poetry in the Parks program, Jodie Hollander, as well as other Bay Area poet/teachers.
