The Bay Area Ridge Trail is an epic, planned 550-mile multi-use trail around San Francisco Bay. The Presidio leg links the park's highest points, from Arguello Gate to the Golden Gate Bridge.

This project improved the experience and safety of visitors along a particularly tight and heavily trafficked part of the Bay Trail at the corner of Laguna and Bay in San Francisco (aka "the Squeeze").

As part of the larger Redwood Creek Restoration Project, this segment was transformed into a sustainable, multi-use trail and adjacent habitat areas restored with native vegetation.

Another stunning hike with connector trails in the Marin Headlands, it provides a secluded destination point for pedestrians and equestrians seeking dramatic coastal views.

Winding for three miles through the Presidio,this trail travels along the bluffs that support some of the most intact natural habitat in the park. Recent work has restored habitat, improved safety, and completed new overlooks.

Perched above Muir Beach, the Dias Ridge Trail provides hikers, bikers, and equestrians with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean along this renovated multi-use segment of the regional Bay Area Ridge Trail.

Once part of a vast dune system, Lobos Creek Valley was the first major restoration project in the Presidio after it became a national park in 1994.

Home to the mission blue butterfly, Milagra Ridge has been the focus of intensive Park Stewardship restoration and monitoring in San Mateo County.

Community volunteers are helping to restore Mori Point and improve habitat for the threatened California red-legged frog and the endangered San Francisco garter snake.
