Presidio National Cemetery Overlook

From: Arguello Gate

To: the Golden Gate Bridge and back

Explore the charm, seclusion, natural wonders, and historic and cultural variety of the Presidio. Stunning views await you on this short trip through forests and grasslands and along coastal bluffs, from the Presidio's south-central entrance to its northwest tip and back. You'll travel gently sloping mostly unpaved paths (cyclists will follow bike lanes for 3 short stretches).

Handsome Presidio signs identify the Bay Area Ridge Trail, the Anza Trail, the Coastal Trail, the Bay Trail and the American Discovery Trail on this interesting, informative route. Features include Andy Goldsworthy’s "Spire" sculpture, the Presidio National Cemetery, and several fabulous overlooks of the ocean and bay. Dress for possible coastal fog that often lingers until afternoon.
