This day-long course is co-hosted/sponsored by the Conservancy's Alcatraz Gardens program and will begin with a tour of the historic gardens with manager Shelagh Fritz to gain inspiration for you to create your own mosaic. With ideas in mind, local artist Kristi Halva will walk through the steps of creating a beautiful piece of art of your own. Participants will also see the Alcatraz Florilegium on display, a collection of botanical illustrations depicting the plants of Alcatraz.

Join us for an evening of exploration and discussion about the future of Mt. Tam‰ЫЄs West Peak. Learn about this site‰ЫЄs unique history and ecology, and about One Tam‰ЫЄs efforts to restore ecological function and improve visitor experience at the mountain‰ЫЄs true peak.

Join Rachel Kesel, One Tam's Conservation Management Specialist for two hours of interpretive hiking in grasslands, serpentine and forests. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and layers. Expect gorgeous wildflowers and views of Mount Tam's peaks.

Join us and Mike Swezy, MMWD Watershed Resources Manager, for a hike at Phoenix Lake and the historic log cabin. The site is a scenic gem with great birdwatching, and the hike is less than a mile each way.
